Jack and the Beanstalk is an English fairy tale, which originally appeared with the title of ‘The Story of Jack Spriggins and the Enchanted Bean’ in 1734. It would later become known as ‘The History of Jack and the Bean-Stalk’ in 1807 before being re-wrote by Joseph Jacobs in 1890 to most closely resemble the tale as it is known today. In fact, this isn’t the only story to feature the title character of Jack, it’s just the most popular of them all. Of course, in the tale, he is a young boy living with his widowed mother and a dairy cow, which is their only source of income. One day the cow stops giving milk and Jack takes it to the market to be sold.
He is offered magic beans for it by an old man on the way, and it’s these beans which Jack’s mother tosses to the ground in anger. These beans then grow into the titular beanstalk, allowing Jack to climbs up it and find a castle which is filled with riches and a giant! And, as the opening video package of this game shows, he takes it upon himself to steal some of the riches, including a harp that plays itself and a goose that lays golden eggs. This game tells the whole story for you, and it comes with some amazing features alongside.
