At the beginning of March we brought you the huge news that Motörhead would be getting the NetEnt treatment as part of the ‘NetEnt Rocks’ trilogy. Already we’ve been treated to the fantastic Guns N’ Roses game, which went on to become NetEnt’s most successful game release ever. Following that release it was announced that Purple Haze hit maker Jimi Hendrix was the next rock icon to be made into a slot and now we have a date for Lemmy and his band-mates.
The notorious hell raisers will light up all of the major casinos from September 22, so although we still have a number of months to wait, it doesn’t mean we can’t start getting excited. Judging by what we saw from Axl and Slash in the Guns N’ Roses slot and the images released in the lead up to the Jimi Hendrix slot launch, we can expect another belter of a game from the Swedish gaming giants.
Lemmy’s legacy
The recent death of Motörhead front-man Lemmy makes the release of this game even more poignant. The English rocker founded Motörhead in 1975 and alongside his band mates, became a pioneer for heavy metal, becoming one of the biggest influences on the genre. His distinctive voice and unique playing style, along with his appearance all added to his legend within rock and roll. For 40 years Lemmy lead Motörhead around the world as they wowed audiences and became renowned as one of the worlds best live acts.
Music
One of the most impressive aspects of the NetEnt Rocks series thus far has been the use of music, with NetEnt securing the official licences for the use of some of Guns N’ Roses and Jimi Hendrix’s biggest hits. And I’ve no doubt it will be more of the same when the Motorhead game is released. The thought of playing an amazing NetEnt slot with ‘The Ace of Spades‘ blaring in your ear just adds to the anticipation of its release. Another gem in Lemmy’s repertoire, ‘The Game‘ is also a song that many fans will be hoping to spin and win to, this September.
Features
Although NetEnt haven’t released many details about the Motorhead slot as of yet, it’s fairly safe to assume that it will carry many of the same attributes we’ve already seen in the Guns N’ Roses game and we’ll soon see in the Jimi Hendrix game when it’s released in April. Some of those features include:
- Legend Spins – Which randomly give players 3 re- spins with Stacked Wilds available
- Solo Multiplier – Randomly multiplies winning combinations from x4 to x10
- Encore Free Spins: 10 free spins at a time, including a band member themed Stacked Wild
- Crowd Pleaser Bonus – Players pick selections to win coins
NetEnt Rocks
Before he formed Motörhead Lemmy worked as a roadie for a number of famous bands and musicians, most notably NetEnt Rocks alum Jimi Hendrix. Speaking to Rolling Stone back in 2010 he detailed what life on the road was like back in the sixties, working for a star such as Hendrix. An interesting link considering they would both eventually have their very own slots.
The announcement of Motörhead as the final instalment of the NetEnt Rocks trilogy caught many off guard, but it was fitting given the recent death of Lemmy from cancer back in December, just days after his 70th birthday. There is absolutely no arguing that Lemmy was one of the last true ‘rockstars’, who truly lived up to every sense of the word.
